Funding your arts project
The Stiwt in Rhos is hosting the second in a series of funding surgeries, organised by the Wrexham Arts Forum with the Arts Council of Wales. If you're a creative individual with a project in mind or a representative of an arts organisation then come along to discuss your ideas on a one to one basis and discover the potential for funding. Using Online Tools @ Central Station | Tuesday, 13th September | 6pm - 8pm
Promoting your artwork and cultural activities online
This session is designed for creative individuals and representatives of arts organisation as an introduction to the range of techniques and free online tools which can support the running, promotion and sales of your work or activities. The session will be led by Felix Clarke of local marketing consultancy Ballentyne Ltd, and as well as providing an introduction to web tools the session will provide an opportunity for attendees to find out how other organisations achieve success, while allowing you to share and discuss your own experiences of online marketing.
Fusion is a unique event that brings together representatives from business, local authority, education and the arts, with the purpose of forming a bridge between the commercial and creative sectors and highlighting the best of local culture.
These events are informal and provide a great opportunity to chat with leading creatives in the worlds of business and the arts. It would be great if you could join us for an evening of Cultural Networking, and feel free to bring along friends, colleagues or clients.
@ Glyndwr University Creative Industries Building | Wednesday 22nd July | From 6pm
This event, will focus on the opportunities available for businesses and creative individuals using the latest online tools – from new website development to remote working, and will feature an exhibition by local artists who use the internet as their primary medium. This will also be a chance to experience the skills and resources that are available at this fantastic new facility.
Eisteddfod Warm-up @ Yale’s Café Bar | Tuesday 12th July | From 6pm
Fusion Presents a Welsh Miscellany, looking forward to the upcoming Eisteddfod in Wrexham. Come along to enjoy a relaxed, free-of-charge evening of networking, while discovering and sampling a slice of Welsh culture. Enjoy some music, food and a glass of wine while making some new business contacts in the world of commerce, local government, education and the creative industries. The St Giles’ Sessions present the best of the town’s contemporary music scene, with a series of four unique performances in Wrexham’s
atmospheric and historic Parish Church. The events will feature one-off collaborations between the regions finest musical talents.

The sessions continue with local ‘super-group’ Andy Hickie and the Merry Maidens. With his guitar and harmonica Andy has been described as “The Welsh Bob Dylan”, by radio DJ’s and fans alike, singing his tales of freedom, love, and life on the road, as well as his powerful singing of traditional Folk ballads. When joined by The Merry Maidens, the
seven-piece group fuse their influences of folk-rock, roots, and alternative sounds to create a gathering of folk like no other.
This is a rare opportunity to see the band playing on their home turf, and really is an
opportunity not to be missed!
